Ependymoma is the third most common pediatric central nervous system (CNS) tumor, accounting for 8-10% of all diagnoses, and occurring most frequently in the posterior fossa.

Ependymoma is fatal in over 50% of children and has not seen any therapeutic improvements in over 30 years.
